It's about two lost souls who are tormented by the mistakes they made in the past and are tied together by a secret that keeps them running.
The movie Desperation Road was written by Michael Farris Smith and directed by Nadine Crocker. It stars Willa Fitzgerald, Garrett Hedlund, Mel Gibson, Ella Thomas, Pyper Braun, Michael Milligan, and Shiloh Fernandez as the three main characters.
Nadine Crocker, the director, talks about the clip and the performances.
We also heard from director Nadine Crocker about the exclusive clip from Desperation Road. She said that Gibson and Hedlund's acting and chemistry were "beautiful."
"I love this time. It's beautiful to see how Garrett and Mel connect and get along as father and son. It was hard to believe they weren't connected by the end of the show. I hoped that our first few hours at the farm would be like a breath of fresh air. The first breath that Maben and Annalee could take on their trip. I'm so proud of how well everyone did in this movie. I always try to make people forget they're watching a movie and just enjoy it as a director. True shows are the only way to make that happen, and I'm so grateful to have worked with these lovely artists.
Nadine Crocker is a director, writer, actor, and producer who has won awards. Her path to success has been anything but normal. She brings her own sense of self to everything she does and works to raise awareness about mental health and stop suicide. Her first movie, the award-winning independent film Continue, is based on a real story about how she survived an attempt on her life when she was 23. Her goal was to make a movie that would not only tell her story but also warn other people not to kill themselves. The movie had its world premiere at the Cinequest Film Festival and is still going to film festivals with the goal of going into theaters next year.
Crocker is also an actress. You may know her from her role as Cabin Fever in Eli Roth's remake (with skin falling off), as Scorcher on CW's Supergirl, or as Juliet in Rodeo & Juliet on Netflix, which is like a Hallmark Channel show.
The movie Desperation Road is set to come out in some cinemas and on video on demand on October 6, 2023.
